Trim and collapse whitespace
The optimizer replaces runs of whitespace with a single space and trims the start and end of each channel name. It performs the same whitespace cleanup on attribute values. It does not change capitalization, remove accents, or infer a preferred display name.
Bulk Rename and Find-and-Replace
If your list has annoying prefixes (like 'US - ' or 'FHD:'), you can use the Bulk Editor to search and strip them out in one go.
Standardizing EPG Matchups
Cleaning channel titles to match EPG databases (e.g. changing 'C.N.HD' to 'Cartoon Network HD') enables players to fetch TV guides successfully.
Literal find-and-replace, not regex
The bulk editor escapes the search text before building its replacement expression. In practice this means the find value is treated literally and replaced globally in selected names or selected URLs. Regular-expression patterns are not accepted, which reduces accidental broad matches.
