One-Click Playlist Optimizer

Apply a defined cleanup pass: exact-URL deduplication, blank-entry handling, whitespace normalization, missing-group assignment, and group/name sorting.

The ultimate one-click cleanup toolkit

The optimizer operates on channels already accepted by the parser. It does not validate every M3U directive or repair arbitrary vendor syntax. It removes entries without a usable URL, keeps the first occurrence of each trimmed URL, normalizes whitespace, adds `group-title="Ungrouped"` when missing, and sorts the result.

Detailed before/after comparison

The preview reports before/after channel and group counts, duplicates removed, empty entries removed, and formatting changes. It does not calculate a file-size difference or show a line-by-line diff. Choosing Apply replaces the current in-memory workspace, so retain the original file as the undo path.

Before and after example

# Before: same URL twice, inconsistent spaces
#EXTINF:-1 group-title=" News ",Example News
https://example.com/live/news.m3u8
#EXTINF:-1,Backup label
https://example.com/live/news.m3u8

# After: first URL kept, whitespace collapsed, group trimmed
#EXTINF:-1 group-title="News",Example News
https://example.com/live/news.m3u8

When not to use one-click cleanup

Do not use it when duplicate URLs are deliberately repeated with different metadata, when original ordering matters, or when a player depends on unsupported vendor comments that the parser does not preserve. In those cases, make targeted edits and compare the export against the source.

For narrower choices, see duplicate strategies, name normalization, and sorting behavior.
