What the Remove Empty Groups option means
Standard M3U has no standalone group object to delete. A group normally exists only as the `group-title` value on one or more entries. M3U Studio's Advanced Cleanup option named Remove Empty Groups actually removes channel entries whose `group-title` attribute is missing or empty. It does not search for category headers that contain zero channels.
Reorganize the Remaining Folders
To consolidate two named groups, search for a group value, select the matching rows, and use the bulk editor's Set Group action. This changes `group-title` on the selected entries. Review the selection before applying it because group assignment affects how the target player organizes the channels.
Missing group values versus empty categories
An entry without `group-title` is usually shown under an Ungrouped or similar category by the player. That is a navigation issue, not proof of a performance problem. If you want to keep the entry, assign a group instead of enabling a cleanup option that removes it.
Steps to Consolidate Group Schemes
Import your file, head to the Optimizer, toggle duplicate cleaning and group normalization, and click apply to wipe blank groups.
